Designing a PID Motor Controller
The base processor is a PIC16F876, which is a 28-pin PIC processor, running at 20MHz. It is paired with an LMD18200 H-bridge, which can drive 3A continuous loads, 5A peak. I have set the base requirements for the software and hardware as follows (many of these requirements came from the goal of emulating the capabilities of the LM629 chip)...Go
90S2313 AVR Robot Board
The Atmel AVR series are very good microcontrollers with quite a rich instruction set, rich enough that lots of folks have good compilers for them so we don't have to learn their assembler....Go

H-Bridge
This circuit drives small DC motors up to about 100 watts or 5 amps or 40 volts, whichever comes first. Using bigger parts could make it more powerful. Using a real H-bridge IC makes sense for this size of motor, but hobbyists love to do it themselves, and I thought it was about time to show a tested H-bridge motor driver that didn't use exotic parts....Go
